High resolution skin imaging
Technology

High resolution ultra-sound
This technique uses Ultra sounds probes like in echography to visualize the skin from epidermis, dermis and tissues. The higher the frequency, the higher is the resolution, the lower is the penetration. From 18 up to 100 MHz in frequency range, High resolution Ultra Sounds offer a very simple and flexible tool to visualize skin layers in depth

Optical coherence tomography
OCT is an optical technique to also visualize skin layers but with a much higher resolution over 500 up to 700 µm depth. The resolution of this technique offers a clear visualization of the different skin layers from Stratum corneum, epidermis and dermis

Optical reflectance microscopy
This optical technique also offer a high resolution on a Z plane in the skin for looking at cells like Keranocytes, melanocytes, etc. Combine with OCT, it becomes a unique tool for visualizing Skin in all directions with isotropic resolution

Ultra-sounds applications
This is mainly use to measure Skin layers thickness (epridermis and dermis) and density like SENEB due to solar damage or ageing effects on skin thisckness and density (Collagen). It is used to visualize also skin deseases dimension and depth like melanoma an dfollow their growth

OCT applications
With its high resolution, fine skin layers can be measured ( SC, epidermis and réticular dermis), as well as papillary contouring change over age. Other components in the skin can be quantified like sweet gland, blood vessels etc..

Confocal microscopy applications
The full field visualization offers cells counting and sizing measurement capabilities at different depth planes as well as fibroplast fiber density.
